Dornier 328

I saw a Dornier 328 at the Army airfield at Fort Lewis, Washington yesterday. I'm sure that most of you have seen one, but this was the first time that I have. It's a slick looking aircraft that looks just plain fast for a turboprop medium twin. I was driving, so I didn't have a chance to take any photos.
 
The Dornier 328 is a turboprop-powered commuter airliner. Initially produced by Dornier Luftfahrt GmbH, the firm was acquired in 1996 by Fairchild Aircraft. The resulting firm, named Fairchild-Dornier, manufactured the 328 family in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, conducted sales from San Antonio, Texas, United States, and supported the product line from both locations. There is also a jet-powered version of the aircraft, being the Fairchild Dornier 328JET.

They are now out of production, although there remain quite a few still in service. :blind:

BTW, it truly is an absolutely beautiful aircraft both inside and out! The a/c you saw was most likely the C-146A which is the U.S. Air Force's designation.
 
I figured it was from Cannon and their "Non Standard Airframe" fleet. I've taken a few rides with that unit, but never in the 328. Neat looking aircraft.
