double click cookie

for 2 days my computer was running real slow, so i did an online scan http://www.f-secure.com/en_EMEA-Labs/security-threats/tools/online-scanner and f-secure found a doubleclick cookie which is a known spyware cookie and it removed it, as soon as this was completted my computer ran fast as hell. I normally have cookies blocked with exceptions, but 2 days ago i had to accept cookies for a website and forgot to re-set it back. Somewhere I picked this up. Keep an eye out for this.

Tried out this program and it found 11 nasty cookies. And here I thought my regular AV program kept them out. Live and learn!

Well, I just tried the program (1st time) and was pleasantly surprised!!! NOTHING FOUND... I am pleased, and feel that my security efforts are apparently good...:applause::applause::applause:

I keep getting an error with that program.
If you just loggin to comcast you get a doubleclick cookie free.......................

Thanks for that, I had a little list of 24 Tracking Cookies.
My browser had developed this weird habit of fading after logging on to a site.
By the 2nd or 3rd click, you'd need to refresh the browser otherwise it would just sit there.
Perhaps the cookies were fighting each other for a look in...

Now all is good again.

I run CCleaner about a hundred times a day...and still the online scan found the DoubleClick Cookie on my system. I was surprised that it was there given how good Ccleaner is about ridding a system of all the left over cookies and crap.

OBIO

DoubleClick does have legitimate (in fact, mostly legitimate uses), however will be considered Malware by SOME virus utilities....not all.

The concern here is the utilization of system resources, although undoubtedly many have privacy concerns as well.

DoubleClick is only one tracking cookie what about the 23 Microsoft issue you, while they are easily removed they return in a couple of hours one is for 39 years and 2 I think 26 years why all this junk clogging my computer.

That is only Via MS Messenger opening Hotmail doubles the cookies

So I take it that you'll seen be purchasing an Apple/Mac....

Being the paranoid skeptic that I am, what independent proof is there that a real problem existed at all? It's the same nagging question I have with all these cleaners and antivirus softwares. But like I said I'm a true skeptic. CNET, PCMag and other reviewers gave it a "reasonable" for effort but held off the full salute owing to it's apparent thirst for RAM and and a high retail price compared to some better known, cheaper and better performing ones out there. Interestingly, however, it was also noted that for now it did excel a little at dealing with existing bugs rather than defending against the onslaught of new ones. So maybe just running scans is it's best use at the moment.
