Hi Guys, noobie question here

I want to download the patches 3.1 and 3.1a onto my PC, but am trying to avoid having to connect to the web.

I am doing it via a second PC and copying them to a cd or memory stick, then transfering it to my gamer.

However, when I do this, a warning comes up that some of the data my be lost so: a) How do I know if any data has been lost?
b) Can it be done without this data being lost?

Thanks in anticipation.

Don't know what OS you're using but I use a USB memory stick to transfer files every day on XP Pro and it works just fine.

Don't remember any warnings.

If you just copy and paste in "My Computer" and you've enough room on the stick, it should transfer ok. Just make sure to left click on the taskbar icon for the stick and shut it down for removal.

Like you, one pc is on the net, the other just for play.:d

Doesn't it also say in that warning that it shouldn't affect the contents of the file?
I get that warning quite often when moving files to a CD. They always seem to be ok when I use them.
