If you follow technology news you should have got surprised reading the article title because there is no official DirectX 11 for Windows XP or Vista as of now, Microsoft DirectX 11 (6.01.7000.0000) will be made available on Windows 7 and Windows Vista when officially released in coming months, but virus creators have hoped onto the opportunity and started taking advantage of gamers curiosity to install the latest version of DirectX by posting fake trojan infected DirectX 11 links on blogs and forums, these so called DirectX 11 For Windows XP and Vista installer contained Trojans created in perl scripts which got detected by only three lesser known anti-virus scanners on VirusTotal out of total 39.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Send those rotten virus making dudes to Chinese prisons and lock them up!

On the note of DirectX 11 though, is that for real? One that works with XP and for vista both? Amazing.. Why didnt they do this before with 10? crazy...

XP will never make Direct X beyond 9. Anyone who loads anything other than that is asking for trouble.

Actually, Helldiver says that the "real" DX11 is for Vista and Windows7, but the virus installers are labeled DX11 for Vista and XP.

So, yep - DX9 is end of the line for XP

Well to be honest with you guys I really wasn't to impressed with DX10, as far as I was concerned DX10 was a flop when it came to FSX and other games. Vista is a big enough hog, but DX10 just added to it.I guess if I had a super duper 9.00 processor,20 gig of DDR5 memory, a 3phase video card and a 5000watt PS I would be able to get the proper speed and video look.:woot:
