I found a book on the 86th FG, and it turns out they had quite a few P-47 razorbacks, so I just could not resist...

Yes, do not resist ever.
Resistance is futile we shall add your great paints to our hanger and fly them often.
All I can say is WOW!

Jankees...I know this plane is no P-51 but I have a question.....I'm curious if I'm doing something wrong.....first it takes me a bit to get this plane to stop smoking at startup but I think its a mix of fuel and rpm and will get that figured out but.....it seems I can never maintain airspeed.....seems kinda sluggish at times. Is there a trick to flying this plane and maintaining a good airspeed?

mixture lever should be completely forward, for it to stop smoking, well, with me anyway.
Prop lever fully forward as well, and then it flies very well with me.

I actually got my first succesful flight after watching this movie.
The army certainly had a way to get your attention!
