Dreamfleet 310 Questions

Does the older Dreamfleet Cessna 310 have all the clickable goodies in the VC? Throttle levers, buttons, and stuff?

I'm only asking because I've failed to find clear answers to this, and I know it's an older FS2004 ship.

If anyone here owns it and could let me know about this, and about how it is in general that'd be great. I may pick it up, but I need some info on it first. Already read Avsim.com reviews. :ernae:

I dont believe the Throttles, mixtures, or prop levers are clickable, but absolutely everything else is. The Dreamfleet 310 is an absolutely phenomenal bird. I used to own a 310 in real life and the Dreamfleet aircraft is a great rendition of the real thing.

I highly recommend purchasing it.

So the engine management controls (throttles, mix and prop levers) are clickable and draggeable?

It does look gorgeous, so I may get it if those are, too, fully clickable. I wish to be sure here, because Capceo said they're not clickable, and Felix said they are. Which one guys!? ;-) :ernae:

I have to go in and see.....i have a yoke/throttle combo set-up for multi flying, so the throttle/mixture/prop i never needed to use from the VC. Sorry. I will check soon for you. Everything else does, though.

No need to apologize, I was merely joking! ;-) ;-) :d I appreciate you checking for me. I'd hate to drop $23 bucks I kinda don't have, and not have it have all the goodies I want. I probably will not buy it right now, but in the future I will. I've always wanted that for my light twin collection, and it will sit nicely in my hangar next to the excellent Just Flight Duchess.

I really miss the Flight1 Cessna 421C; that was just the coolest twin out there. However, very little is mouseable in the VC, and they chose not to update it to FS2004 VC standards, and it sadly took a spot in the very back of my hangar. :(

Oh well. Good stuff

Thanks for the heads up on this! I had totally forgotten about this plane.

I only fly for fun in FS9 and seeing the FSX release of the 310 made me wish I had one. This fits the 'bill'. :d

That's exactly why I was looking into it, Bill. lol :ernae: made me wish I had one after I saw the Milviz model. I donno, I'm tempted, but as I said: no clickable engine levers, no buyie-buyie.

Just went in to FS to check on the engine control levers for you, and I can confirm that they are, in fact, click and drag operable in the VC. As is pretty much everything else in the plane. It is a great addon considering its age, and stands up nicely to some of the newest planes out there. i say go for it. You won't be dissappointed.

Hey PT:

You won't be dis-appointed!!! I've had mine for several years now...

Another "payware" twin that I have a lot of fun with is the Eaglesoft Twin Comanche..

On the "freeware" side, I fly Milton's D-18 and his Aero Commanders quite a bit...

Regards;

Bill

I'm not sure if you meant the 2D sub-panel throttle quadrant was fully mouse-able and drag-able. But, I just bought this ship, and the 3D VC engine management controls are not mouse-able... I'm a little bit upset about this.

Is there an update I need to download that will hopefully change this?... :ernae:

Ok... I must respectfully retract my previous statements... :) I had to do some searching after my minor frustrations, and found the updates (both of them) that fixed all issues. I just can't believe that the file I downloaded from Flight1 did not contain all of these updates. However, I'm not going to continue complaining after the gauge sharpness went up drastically, and the engine controls are now clickable! :ernae:

Don't whine about me being whiney ;) :d LOL Right off the bat, I was and still am impressed by the modeling of everything, and the sounds are... excellent. :ernae:

I gotta say, even though I've only flown it a little bit, this thing's a freakin' HOTROD. Huge turbocharged engines for a relatively small airframe; I'm lovin' this thing. :ernae:

The 310 was the first payware I bought, way back in 2004. Cessna created the most beautiful light aircraft ever. I have about 200 hours in the old 'D' model, the culmination of a love affair that started when I watched Sky King as a lad. Flight 1's model was truly exceptional and flew fairly realistically to the 'D'. I tweaked the aircraft config a bit to make her more of a handful and haven't been disappointed. It was funny, to me anyway, about the VC click spots because I never use the VC so I couldn't even hazard a guess.

If anyone is interested in a Australian repaint there is one I did ages ago over at Avsim - just search for VH-MQL. It's a fictional scheme, but true to the one offered on the '67 L model.

While we're at it, are there any gurus out there who know how to modify the 310 to the normally aspirated version. I'm not sure whether it's an issue of modifying the cfg or you need a different mdl file. There has been talk of it on the DF forums, but the guys there are reluctant to offer any suggestions.

Cheers

Az
