Anyone have any experience with the Dreamfleet 727? How is it on frames, etc?

Thinking about getting it.
 
I've had it for several years. IMHO it is the best 'old school' payware jetliner for FS9, hands-down...and far far better in terms of flight dynamics and systems simulations than the older Captain Sim model (which was the first payware I think I ever bought).

My five year old Dell has a P4 3.4G with 1GB ram and a Radeon X600 with 256Mb. Not exactly a top-line machine, yet I get on average 15-25fps in the VC with the Dreamfleet 727 with all my display sliders slightly above mid-range. Not bad as far as I'm concerned.

Be forewarned that there are a lot of switches to flip and dials to turn. It's definitely an **** aircraft, which isn't a problem since it has excellent and very intuitive manuals...many of which can be accessed from the FS Kneeboard while 'in sim'. The first few flights might seem a little overwhelming, but it becomes much easier to manage with each successive hop.

I've had it for some time and absolutely recommend it.

Seems to be OK on frames ( in my old system it was fine ).

Definitely worth getting.

This being a JT8D powered aircraft, which sets power by EPR, did they get this correct? The reason I ask is that the FS series has this totally screwed up as far as getting the actual readings to set power. What sort of values is it showing for takeoff, climb, cruise and descent?

Curious from a FD perspective.

Yep, the Dreamfleet model comes with rather extensive charts referencing EPR settings for all phases of flight, broken down by pressure altitudes & OATs...even noting different settings when anti-ice is on and differential power settings with the Super27. They've included individual charts for the different models in the package (100, 200, Super27s). I haven't the slightest idea if Dreamfleet's EPR settings are accurate to reality...but they've certainly done a good job 'faking it' for gullible types like myself if they aren't! :icon_lol:

I tried copying a few smaple lines from the EPR charts but the formatting got all screwy when pasting here.

That's looking a bit complicated for my tastes. I have no desire to be the flight engineer. I think for now I'll stick with the HJG 727.

Most of the time you can have it already running, hop into the left seat and go fly without having to open up the manual.
