Dreamscenery Mitsubishi A5M Claude released

DennyA

SOH-CM-2023
Dreamscenery dropped an A5M Claude on the Marketplace. At just $6.99, I had to grab it.

It's not bad at all, given the price. Exterior model looks good, interior is decent. Certainly not complaining for the price!

Only issue I ran into is no pilot visible in the external view. I emailed Dreamscenery's support and was pleasantly surprised to get a response within a couple of hours! They said they're working on an update to make the pilot visible in the external view.

I also suggested it'd be nice to be able to toggle off the hint note and GPS, and they said they'd add those to considerations.

Superb support for a $7 plane! Once they get the pilot issue wrangled I can definitely see using this to fly around exploring Japan.

Yeah, the lack of pilot is super frustrating. I'd have probably tried to refund it but it was cheap, and Dreamscenery has promised they're looking into fixing that. Fingers crossed. I'll bump the topic if a pilot appears.

I love the a5m. I did a few repaints for the CFS2 version a few decades back.
But the lack of a pilot breakes it for me. Did anyone try the gotfriends avatars?

Saburo Sakai's mount in China, so a very interesting aircraft for me. Don't think I'll be buying this model, however.

One thing I really dislike about FS2024 vs FS2020 is that 2024 doesn't let you know if a streaming plane has been updated. So I have no idea when Dreamscenery came through on their promise to add a pilot to the Claude, but they did! It's still "a $6.99 plane that feels like it's worth that much" and not up to par with something like AH's P-26, but now I can fly it without cringing every time I go into an external view!

Anyway, WW2 aviation buffs will find it's not bad for the low, low price.
