duel monitor setup

i got the cockpit building plans from one of the websites..it has a setup for two monitors, one down low for the panel.and one on top of the unit for "outside" the airplane....my video card will support two monitors..BUT what is needed to get the gauges into one monitor.and the out the windshield view in the other?.....

i remember something in 2004 about an extra little box on the screen..you picked what you wanted in the lil box..and then drug one or the other to the second monitor...this still in FSX?

or how else would it be done?..

ok cool..but how do you get to the "panel/Gauges" only?......and only the view out the windscreen?...

Hi
Been a while since I played with this...Also not sure if this is the only way....You need to build a custom 2d panel with the gauge layout that you want for the 2nd monitor..then when in sim go to the menu and under views~view mode~cockpit check the cockpit (there prob a key combo you can use) now click on and drag the 2d panel with the gauges on to the 2nd monitor. When happy save the senerio and make that your default..Only real issue with this is its aircraft specific, so if you load a new aircraft with a different panel.cfg you will loose the gauge location ...unless you copy the 2d gauge info into the panel.cfg of all the aircraft you have...
You can add extra fun factor and get a touch panel overlay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15-Vanda...91837180?pt=AU_Components&hash=item27c9f27efc
...On my set I had the monitor with gauges setup,a cardboard cutout over the monitor to hide all but the gauge graphics, then the touch screen overlay(they dont like anything sitting on them :) this gave the gauge a glass look...you could go monitor, touch screen..then cardboard cut out(would look much better) but you would have to make sure no part of the cutout puts pressure on the overlay
