DVD burning software

I have a Samsung DVD lightscribe burner. I was going to installed the Nero 7 essentials pack, but that has so much bloat ware on the disk its not even funny. Any one know of any good lite-weight DVD burning software?

I've been using DeepBurner http://www.deepburner.com/index.php for a while now for both CDs and DVDs on three different machines.
Works a lot smoother than Nero (The latest Nero I have is 6.6.something) and I haven't made a "coaster" with it yet. I'm just using the free version, but the Pro version is supposed to be fairly easy on your CPU too.

I don't believe they've got Lightscribe support yet but I don't have a Lightscribe drive yet so that hasn't bothered me so far. If you don't need the Lightscribe stuff, check it out.

I have never really cared for Nero. You would think as long as they have been around they would have been able to make a good product. It is way to buggy for me.

I've used Nero Start Smart or Nero Express for years becuz they're a stripped down, compact, and user friendly program. I've got the over-bloated versions and never used them. Express is for CDs only. Start Smart is for CDs and DVDs. I recently used Start Smart to burn an ISO image that I had slipstreamed SP3 onto XP SP2.

I'm finding the freeware version of "DVDFab 5" not to bad at all. Running on Vista 32 bit home premium. Worth a try.

I've converted to Ashampoo from DeepBurner. Their free version seems to do all the nifty stuff DeepBurner does for money. I may be biased as my DVD burner fried in the middle of a DeepBurner job but that isn't the program's fault. Thanks for mentioning it B13 - I'd not heard of it until I saw this thread.

Absolutely amazing the things a person can learn in an outhouse!

Cheers,
MT
