E-113 Engine (wip)

Slowly I am plugging away in the attempt to model the vintage Aeronca "K" opposed 2-cylinder engine.
A bit out of scale yet, although I have created the sparkplug and placed it in the general vicinity as enhancement.

I apologize for the bland (default) model colors, as I have not began the unwrap/texture phases yet.
Also there are several areas below the crank area that need working to achieve better form.

Creating the top of the cylinders. I'm not sure if I can create this as a single object, as the poly/vertice count is causing havoc as I work my way to the top.
I still have quite a lot to form yet.

Is it safe to say that I need to start welding?

I'd do the fins as separate parts. What you have there is a future headache waiting to strike. I'd also suggest that you might want to get the export process working and be able to check your work in sim before you get too complex. I always "check as I go". :salute:

Fins as separate entities is a more logical approach. The more I was shaping, the more I did not like what I was seeing. I continued anyway to gain a visual on how I was going to build this. Right now it looks like a nightmare in wire-view!

Thanks for the tip, Robert. A good one at that!

Export process? Hmm, is there a class on that? :bump:

Getting to know the tools and assembly at the same time. Hierarchy is a definite must follow as parts and pieces seem to form like mating rabbits in a frenzy.
