Early F6F-5 Hellcats posted

These are Allen's early F6F-5 Hellcats with the rear quarter window. These were deleted fairly soon after the dash 5 production began probably because they didn't serve much purpose.

The models are shined, and have new flight models, new panel, a Wolfi's US Pilot added.

Now that you have gotten some paint on the plane how easy is rudder working out?
 
Hi Allen

It works well. There is a 1 pixel shift between the fin and the rudder, something not uncommon with cut outs, and easy to deal with. The original tail was a nightmare to try to work with but you tamed it. Thanks again. :very_drunk:
 
Well thats good. I did the line up by eye. I should have put a few 1 pixel lines cross the fin and rudder to make sure they lined up...

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - American

Description: Early version Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat

VF-20 aboard USS Enterprise August - November 1944 then transferred to the USS Lexington (CV16) December 1944 to January 1945. I believe this marking is from the Lex period.

This is Allen's early F6F-5 with the rear quarter window. These were deleted on later dash 5 versions.

The model is shined and has new air files, Wolfi's pilot and new pane included.
