Bgl2Xml is a program to open bgl's and bglcomp a program to bring them back in bgl. Search for them at AVSIM ... you can rework the XML's with the text editor.

It works fine in fs9 and X.
Brilliant tool if you want to do some fast scenery object building in Google Sketchup (another great tool).
It might be worthwhile giving Bgl2Xml another try, it was designed to do exactly what you intend...(just make sure you red the instructions)

If the bgl file was compiled with a compiler other than bglcomp.exe Bgl2Xml may not be able to read it.

The file I want to change is a freeware from Blue Sky Scenery. It's a small file that determines how far away the Los Angeles buildings (in his downtown LA photoreal scenery) will appear. There are three files to choose from and I picked the furthest but it's not far enough to suit. I wrote to the dev but what he puts out is all there is. Considering it's freeware I have no gripe. So all I want to do is open the bgl, change the distance, and close it. Shouldn't be too complicated I hope. The older I get the less complicated I like things.
