• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Effects guru wanted

Hi folks, we have a need for a special effect to complete one of the current LDR projects (the Navion A). There are a couple of people on the LDR team who have made effects in the past but this item is a bit beyond their capabilities at the moment hence the call for assistance.

What we need is a parachute flare effect, something that will (a) emit light, (b) emit smoke and (c) descend slowly to the ground when fired from a moving aircraft. If it can also throw a light patch onto the ground when close then that's even better.

We have a working flare system on the Navion A in terms of the switches and coding to make it all happen but we are just missing the key component, the actual flare effect to use.

Anyone capable of making one for us or who knows of one that is available to freeware developers please shout up.
