• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

effects.xml questions

Roration is in fact a valid typo going back to someone at MS when they were developing CFS3, and changing it to Rotation will interfere with its proper functionality.

Duplicate effects are sometimes done on purpose so you would have to experiment to see if renaming one has a positive or negative impact on the animation.

To continue my posts regarding the effects.xml in the Spit MkII thread http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforu...-Spitfire-Mk-II-Package?p=1200689#post1200689:

- While deliberate typos such as "guages" and "attatch" still refer to gauges and attach, what does "Roration" do, as there also still is the "Rotation" tag? I know there is a document explaining a lot of the tags in the effects file, but I can't remember this one. (I am not at home right now, so I can't check).

- Also, one of the effect lines I mentioned in the Spit thread are the following:
line 991: <fx_cv6_Light_yellow ClassName="GroupEffect" Effect0="cv6_Light_yellow_reflected" Effect0="cv6_light_yellow"/>
Effect0 is entered two times. What would the point be of that? Shouldn't it be Effect0 and Effect1 if one would choose to have this effect called for two times? Or delete one?

Hi Frosty, I've come across this a few times. I change them to Effect 0 and Effect 1. Sometimes I find a string where the Effects are not in numerical order (eg. Effect 0 might be missing, they start at 1). I tend to change the numbering so that there is an unbroken sequence. Another time I found Effect 5 was missing (they had 4 and 6), so I renamed 6 to 5. As far as I can tell, the effects work.
