Anybody interested in doing a El Centro NAF for FSX? I had been trying my hand at it for some time now but its a no go. I have pretty good pics of the air field if anybody wants to give this a go. We will be willing to pay a fee for detailed FPS friendly scenery. Hit me up here or at FSXBlueAngel7@gmail.com

We tried using John Stinstrom El Centro scenery for FS 2004 and hoped it would convert over smooth to FSX but no such luck. We would go from 25 FPS to 4 FPS when we got on heading to the airfield. Great detail but no work for us. We had contacted him about doing one for FSX but he doesn't do FSX.

Impretty far along in my attemp at this project and as of last night finished stage 3. Now just trying to figure out how to recompile the MDL's into one single BGL

Yep I figured it all out with the help of Jim Dhaenens and John Stinstrom. I am now just having one problem with some textures and a Alpha channel. Everything else came out right but this one is killing me. Here are some pics if they work.

In the pic with the aircraft shelter you'll see the Alpha problem as what is all black is supposed to be clear. Also figured whats a base without a flag. A empty one if you ask me.

Anybody good with creating AI Traffic flights? I would like to create traffic of some Navy and Marine corps F-18's doing touch and go's and maybe some arrivals from other places.

Not to hijack this thread ... but ummm Crashaz ... did ya ever figure out how to get that nice shiney grass off my bomb stores? :)

No worries Snuffy. I really wish I can get rid of the crash patches in and around the airfield. El Centro is all sand and this project is near completion so I don't feel like downloading 30 other programs and learning all that over again and delaying this project further. Anybody know how to change the scenery like that? In the pic attached everything you see green is what I am trying to get rid of.

I know its in default FSX scenery.

Ya know as a matter of fact I did. LOL... thanks for reminding me.

LOL... yep another tool... SBuilderX.

Might want to ship the scenery to me so I know the exact place and size to lay down the poly of sand.

Just finished up building the very longggg gas pipe that runs along side the closed runway next to 30. I am putting the read me together for now and this will be uploaded to our site sometime tonight. Here are some pics.

Special thanks to Jim Dhaenens for his help and guidance and to John Stinstrom for sending me his source files to recompile them for use in FSX. He did such a awesome job for his scenery in FS2004 I felt it was a shame it didn't work in FSX so I kept with his main hangars.

Now the pics.....

And heres one more of the boys testing it at practice last night. I liked this screen shot because in a lot of videos and pics of the 1st Blues show at El Centro you see this view a lot.

Thanks. I built a loud speaker like you see at an airshow but the darn texture for the face wont show up like it does in Design studios arrrgg lol. I built that and some hay bails like you see off of runway 30. Doesn't look so great up close but when your coming looks good enough. I did it for the fellas over at Airshowbuzz and built my own show center trailer rather then the default one we use.

Congrats on the release! Once upon a time, I hauled a load of explosives out of El Centro going up to Twentynine Palms. Had to wait for my proper escort vehicle, as the runway was "active" that day and it was part of the route to the loading site. :USA-flag:
