Emma Field for FSX Ready!

I just uploaded the latest version for Emma Field. There are 4 object libraries required and many of you may already have these as they are used pretty extensively in airport sceneries. I'm going to make those available if I find that enough folks need them. I was going to supply file names here but discovered that some of Len Hickman's libraries must be packaged with other zip files as I could not find them as separate packages. The four object libraries needed are:
ez-terminals_ss
Lens aerosoft1
small_airport_objects_3
Lens ez walls & fences vol1

AUTOGEN TREES: this seems to be a very flexible area depending on your setup, how your scenery sliders are set and even what season you happen to be flying in. Trees that show up in summer may not in the spring. Those that are a fair distance from a runway or taxiway in one season or FSX setup, may be encroaching on someone elses. Just while I was adjusting the autogen I had a nice pine tree that was slightly over the taxiway at the "36" end of the rwy so I moved it back. When I reloaded the sim, that lush pine tree had become a dead tree. Who knew? That's what you'll run into with autogen trees. . . .just saying. By the way, since the trees were placed with the Annotator, they will show seasonal changes.

GROUND TEXTURE: This is a photoimage that I placed over the area encompassing Emma Field because it worked for what I envisioned. It was color corrected to more closely match the surrounding textures and then several areas were cloned to cover unwanted trees and buildings and I added a rough runway for the gliders. The ground texture is not seasonal. It will most likely work fine for everything except winter (as you can imagine). I tried in vain many times to get some idea of how that particular season is rendered by other artists, but as I've found with a lot of things, no one really wants to tell you. Trade secret ya know (like I'm a threat to anyone's livelihood, lol).

I know that a lot of us are "download, install and run" aficionado's. . . .we get around to reading the important stuff later when something doesn't work, lol. Please read the very short, but important readme!!

For what it's worth, I consider this a sort of "Open Project" that can be modified by individuals for their own enjoyment. If you have the ability to add additional scenery objects, etc., please feel free. I've done the general layout with the limited talents I have so I'm sure others can expand on what I've done. Enjoy!:salute:

Could someone please give me a link ? This Senior Citizen is suffering from "Brain Fade". Thanks in advance.

Looking forward to it Ed! Can't seem to find a d/l for Lens ez walls & fences vol1 though.
Yea same here, I have it (obviously) so I will probably get these libraries together as a package and release them here with a link to download.:salute:

It will take some time to show up, but eventually it will be in the downloads section here under "What's New".:salute:

Yea but I didn't want folks to have to download a 165meg file just to get a few objects. I was hoping to find both of Len's libraries as standalone zip files. Still looking.

They were at Avsim, pre-hack job. A texture fix for the appropriate file survived. I have the zip, Lens_scenery.zip, circa March, 2006. Len still has his ...

BREAKING NEWS!! Sorry about that. It's at Flightsim.com under lens_ez_scenery.zip, posted 10/20/2009 @ 24mb+- File ID = 140187

Hi Ed and Lance:

Indeed Len Hickman's "Lens EZ Scenery Vol.1" (a multi-part and multi-library package) is missing at AVSIM since the "hack" a few years ago.

And as Lance so kindly posted above, "lens_ez_scenery.zip" is found instead via "File Search" on the flightsim.com Menu bar (under "Search"):

NOTE: The "lens_ez_scenery.zip" package at flightsim.com already has the missing wall texture fix "lens_ez_scenery_textures.zip" inside it

Hope this helps save folks some searching ! :mixedsmi:

Thanks for the help on those object files guys. If you haven't downloaded that file yet, be aware that you'll find more folders than just Lens ez scenery. . . .BUT, they're all empty. Not sure why they were included, suffice to say Lens is the only folder with anything of value, lol. Thanks again and I hope those who install Emma get some enjoyment from having it "more or less" in place again.:salute:

NOTE: Just uploaded to flightsim.com as well.

Thanx again for bringing Ol' Emma back. You have been able to capture at least the atmosphere of the gal even without Fritz flaying his arms about.:icon_lol: I did notice once odd thing. You mentioned the elevation issues in your readme (see I do read that sort of stuff). So when I got there I wasn't surprised at the slight offset. Here's the unusual bit. My original venture was with the default fsX environment, plus FSgenesis' mesh and I did see a slight elevation change -- say about a meter.

Then I remembered I had Orbx's PNW (trial version) and that Emma was in the "sphere of influence." So I backed out of fsX, applied the PNW scenery, and went back in. WOW! Now I'm sitting in a 3 to 4 meter hole -- Tarmac amd runway. Everything else is fine including the dirt glider strip. That is too much to enjoy, so for now I'll stay away from the Orbx setup when Emma is on the menu. As I said, the elevation difference is minimal.

Only reason I bring it up at all is the sizable difference between Orbix and no Orbx, and I thought ya ought to know.

I really like the end product so much I saved a "Super cub at Emma" flight so I get there whenever I want.

OUTSTANDING!!!!

ED.Thank you for emma field.Great work.Again thank you.
Chet two wolves.
P.S.I went into setting display.I set my mash resolution to 38m.Perfect!Again great work.:applause:

Now all we need is for Fritz to renew his ongoing "mash resolution" so we can lift our "spirits" even further! :ernae:

Interesting. I have PNW (the full version) as does one of the folks who beta tested for me and neither one of us had that problem with the mesh. I wonder if something was changed in the final version of PNW and that's why we don't see much difference (elevation-wise) between PNW and just the base terrain and GEX/UTX being added?
