Error 1607 trying to install SDKs from FSX Deluxe Disc 1

SOH-CM-2023
Hi everyone. I've been all over the web trying suggestions and nothing works. I can not get the setup.exe from the SDK folder on Disc 1 to install the SDKs. It always stops at a Error 1607 Scripting Runtime. Installshield may be the culprit, as I've read, but it doesn't appear to be on my system where I was instructed to look. Everything else I've ever taken from a disc on this dvd drive, no problem. Is it just the Deluxe Edition Disc1? Wonder if we can get a definitive answer here so that other folks might find this thread and see a solution. Thanks guys.

Doug

Hi,
Try copying the SDK folder to your desktop and running setup from there. If you have problems copying the folder do it in Safe mode. Then return to normal mode and run setup.
I'm suspecting a possible conflict with the way the data is encoded on the FSX discs and other software that has disc access capabilities.

EDIT: I was assuming you've tried the suggestions found here:

Thanks, I'll try the safe mode technique and see how that goes. I guess there is no site that hosts the FSX SDK files? I can't seem to fix the 1607 error and tried all the suggestions that didn't try to sell me software. Anyway I'll report back if that was the fix for me. Sure would like to see what's different about them from the FS9 SDKs. I got to know them fairly well when I built my Firefly.

Cheers,
Doug
