Error at position 1, line 1 on mission files?

Hi all,

Has anyone ever gotten an "Invalid at the top level of the document. Error on line 1, position 1 in ""?"

What does this mean and how can I fix this? This seems to be happening more and more with facility files and large formations of ships and planes.

I've been able to successfully add more planes to a formation manually and merge multiple formations into one large one.

But, this error keeps occurring and the game keeps locking up. I'm using the MB in ETO 1.50, if that makes any difference.

Other missions that have large formations, well more than eight planes in a formation, work fine.

Thanks,

Chris

I have had this many times. It is caused by one or more extraneous characters near the beginning of the mission file.

1. Back up the mission file.

2. Open the mission file with XMLWrench. Delete the extra character(s) near the beginning of the mission file. They should be after the "<".

3. Start CFS3 and retry the mission.

GOOD LUCK!
