Error with Ge-88mm-Flak and inf_crates

stockplane

Charter Member
In single mission Leningrad and Finland War I receive an error message for: Ge-88mm-Flak and inf-crates.

I have try reinstall the two but the error remain.

How is possible solved?

Thanks in advanced.

Stocklane, tell us exactly where you reinstalled them. Sometimes we get these errors when we accidentally put things in wrong locations. They should be in scenedb\weapons\scenery folder for the flak gun, scenedb\inf\scenery folder for the crates and objectsdp folder for the dp files that come with the two.

Moreover, if you're sure they're in the correct places, make sure you delete the filelist.dat files in the scenedb\weapons\scenery folder and the scenedb\inf\scenery folder. If you don't do this, you may continue to get the errors even if the subject files are in the right locations.

Reply for errors

Hallo Bearcat241,

The inf_cranes are in OBJECTS_DP and SCENEDB\inf folder but seem that in the download is missing the related bgl files Ihave seen only the DP and the texture files.

For the Ge-88mm-Flak i have in OBJECTS_DP the related DP and CDP files in SCENEDB\inf the bgl and the texture and not in SCENEDB\weapons (the instruction say put them in inf not in weapons) now for it i paste the Ge-88mm-Flak in the weapons folder.

Regards.

Sorry stockplane, my mistake. When you secure the bgl's for both objects, put them both in the INF\scenery folder, as they are both infrastructure items.

I have the Ge-88mm-Flak in my scenedb/inf folder, not weapons but have no inf_crates there, only inf_crane_1 and _2. Bearcat is right about deleting the filelist.dat file from the scenedb/inf/scenery folder.

OK but these won't work

OK Bearcat241,
but i not find the bgl for inf_crates and the flak continue give me error, i always when add new objects delete the filelist
also if is only a replace.

Bur these two continue not work properly.

Regards.

Stockplane,

It might be the mission file at fault. Which mission is it?

In your first mail you wrote "Ge-88mm-Flak and inf-crates" as the error message. Maybe the object names use underscores instead of dashes?

Not at home right now, but IIRC the stock crates object is called "inf_crates", not "inf-crates" ?

For UncleTGT

The name is inf_crates both in DP that in mission, The mission are the first and the second of Leningrad campaign and the
first of Continuation War (Aces) campaign.

For my the problem is the missed bgl file for inf_crates and don't know because the Ge-88mm-Flak give me error.

Regards.

A possible solution

In EFSF_06 package of Eastern Front there is this read-me by Rami:

This scenery pack contains eight bases that are used in “Operation Barbarossa” and “Deep War.” These bases are located around Moscow, Leningrad, near the Black Sea, and Murmansk. The GSL file, combined by Achim, contains entries from both the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] installment of Ajax’s bases, as well as the new ones.

To avoid conflicts, take the GSL from this pack and uninstall it.

That way, when you install the GSL file that comes with this pack, you will avoid any conflicts.

Thanks again for letting me upload these, Ajax!

The link for the correct GLS is inactive, probably with this GLS instead of of original will be that the problem will be solved.

Stockplane,

I almost always include the Ge-88mm-Flak object in my packages, and Finland Wars and Leningrad both have them. The "inf_crates" is a stock object, and you should not receive an error message for that.

Good evening,

The Ge-88mm-Flak is considered an infrastructure object, and both the .bmp (texture) and .bgl (scenery) are included to put in the scenedb\inf\scenery and scenedb\inf\texture folders, respectively.

Once again, "inf_crates" is a stock object.

Good evening again,

Stockplane, I think this is the corrected version:

Thanks

Thanks for the new link, so if i have understand correct if the EFSP_03 package is installed is not necessary install
the GLS that comes with EFSP_06?

But when is possible find the bgl file for inf_crates that is missing in the download?

Thanks in advanced.

"inf_crates" is part of the stock infrastructure bgl file that loads with CFS2, It's called "inf.bgl" This contains all of the stock infrastructure buildings and objects in CFS2.

It sounds like the other stock infrastructure objects are not giving you trouble? it may be the stock "inf.bgl" file is corrupted and you could try replacing it with a fresh copy.

If you have any other CFS2 installs, for other theaters for example, copy the "inf_bgl" there and paste it into the install that is giving you trouble replacing the possibly bad one. Or you can insert your CFS2 CD disc number 2 in your CD drive , open it and you can copy the "inf.bgl" directly from the disc.

Stockplane,

Not quite. If you have the EFSP_03 installed, you should uninstall the GSL (not the airfields) from that package and use the GSL from the EFSP_06 package instead, which contains the GSL gobs for all of the airfields from EFSP_03, minus the airfields which were removed or moved because of shoreline conflicts.

I have try another way

I have try another way : i have change the inf_crates and Ge-88mm-Flak with stock trees objects the result is that the missions give me error with these new objects so i presume that the errors are in the missions so i have try open these missions via MB but them give error and the MB not open them.

There is a possibility to control if the mission are correct apart with MB?

Thanks in advanced for any informations about.

Regards.
