Errors loading missions

This is probably a common problem, but I need some help.

The mdlnames.txt is under 32K, and free flight and quick combat work okay.

Am I missing scenery objects? Some missions in the Leningrad missions work OK, while others do not.

I'll recommend you to open up with notepad the mission files, and go down to the last lines and either 1) check and see what aircraft, ships, vehicles, and objects you are missing and put them into your sim or 2) replace the objects, aircraft, vehicles, or ships with ones that you really do have.

An example of this:

[unit_type.14]
type_id=6101
unit_family=4
name=shj_merchant

(Type 4 are which objects perhaps which are missing, but missing objects will not allow you start the mission)

You would want to replace the "shj_merchant" with a ship or object you do have.

Try this first and tell us what happens!

I am not sure that I completely understand your suggestion. I now how to get into the problem mission file, but not sure what you mean after that. What do I look for?

Try to open the missions which are having problems in Mission Builder, and perhaps Mission Builder will help to give you the answer at your question as to why the mission doesn't run.

I found some missing .dp files that fixed some of the missions, but am still having issues with others, including a model "bicester" that is missing. I have been looking at each "corrupt" mission file and comparing it to one that runs.

You beat me to it....(I got trapped in the "honey-do list," sorry)

My suggestion for you was to go through each mission which isn't working and match the objects, aircraft, ships and vehicles in the "unit_type" section of the mission file against the objects_dp folder for objects and vehicles, and then your aircraft and ship folder, respectively.

It would appear that I missed an object pack for that campaign. This should help...

I got the Leningrad install working. The missions file detective work did the trick. Another set of DP's missing. Thanks for the Bicester update! Now just need to work a little on the looks of the scenery.:salute:

Thanks to both of you. I've been looking for Bicester for the longest time; plus belfast3bay and blastpenclosed. When I downloaded Onogras' Java over a year ago, these three items were missing and there were no directions to locate them. I never could find them. I even PM'd Onogras, and he couldn't come up with them. Been living with nasty little error messages ever since. Now, boom, out of the blue......problem solved. Merry Christmas to me, and to one and all.
