Escort Missions in CF3

Okay, so I know this sounds really really newbish, but I just got CFS3, and I was trying to do an escort mission, but once I land the mission won't end, what do I do?

:kilroy:Swimmer111, it sounds like you're flying in the Quick Combat section. Did you achieve the Goal by shooting the purple-labeled targets? If so, you should have seen a red text block at the bottom of the screen.

You have two choice, close, which shuts down the red banner, abd debriefing, which ends the mission.

In either case, pressing Esc will take you to the Stats screen.:d
 
Bombers must have reach all their waypoints for the mission to be a success, even after the detach escort point.

That's one of the CFS3 anoying things.
 
okay I don't think I was very specific, but I try flying the escort missions in campaign mode, and once they reach the detach point, it doesn't let me end the mission
 
I never managed to end an escort mission as a succcess, either I lost the bombers half way or most of them got shot down :isadizzy:

I suppose one must the protect the bombers effectively, meaning you must reach a minimum score among the attackers or keep a minmum number of bombers flying, never figured out what counts .......
 
I'm having the same problem with ETO... I play the 2nd mission on the 2nd Theater Era (Battle of Britain) and reach waypoint, blow ships to oblivion, come back home, but no way to end the mission. No red text block at the bottom of the screen and pressing Esc won'tl take me to the Stats screen.
 
will bailing or ditching work once the bombers reach thier final waypoint?
