ETO airfield updates...

Hey guys,

As you can see, the ETO engineers have been hard at work overhauling some older API airfields that Captain Kurt included in the 354th Fighter Group. With his help, these are turning into GSL airfields, and I have begun working on the French airfields layouts for the 354th.

Also, Captain Kurt's French airfield package will include five new airfields built for the Battle of France - Part II, mostly clustered between Paris and Orléans.

In addition, Achim27619 also created seven new airfields in France which will also be uploaded very soon; the only holdup is modifying the AFD.bgl files so that all the airfields use one rather than individual versions; this prevents hitting the "wall" of sim only being to handle about two hundred or so AFD files in one installation. Now that permission has been granted, this will be coming soon.

And there's more coming, but I'm not going to display all the cards we're holding...

Good evening,

I didn't want to go to bed without completing this; the picture shows the completed temporary airfield at Circqueville, with all of the API macros "replaced" by their identical objects in Mission Builder, before being converted into GSL after the afd.bgl files is wiped clean.

It's the same way MaskRider used to turn his older fields into GSL years ago.

I just completed a new install of ETO...... Now you go and change it.

I only have one problem with the install thus far. As I am flying the Old Crow mission escorting other fighters pretending to be bombers, I get errors that I don't have scenery starting with bldn_

Disconcerting because those are the only errors and I followed the instructions.

It is the 363rd missions.

My Battle of France and Battle for Europe are just fine otherwise.

Any ideas?

There are more new airfields coming from Achim and Captain Kurt for the Battle of France, (about twelve in all) so it's still a work in progress.

There's also a complete GSL, scenery, and landclass redo coming for a historical "famous / infamous" area of the Early ETO...
