ETO CTD with FP

I have just installed my Firepower B17s and B24 into ETO and then run the ETO FP Heavy Bomber update as per the instructions. When selecting aircraft in Quick Combat all the different B24 and B17 seem to be available, but when I click FLY the game exits to desktop. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I can relaunch ETO and then fly one of the non-FP planes, so the issue at this stage appears to be with the FP planes. Is there perhaps an instruction missing from the Read Me for adding the FP heavy bombers?

:kilroy:Murray Cod, this FP 2ETO conversion pack requires only the FP b_17f, B_17G, B_24J, and B_17_share folders from a Firepower install.

ETO was never test-installed onto a full Firepower CFS3 install. DO NOT install Firepower onto ETO, as it will eradicate a lot of ETO effects, as well as some other things.

1. Start with a completely updated ETO install (1.0 and 1.20), then simply copy the four above folders into your ETO install.
2. Make sure that ETO is set to Era 1, and the Spawn Selector is set to 1, Stock Spawn Mode.
3. Run the FP 2ETO installer.

If you have done the above, then there should be no problems.

You may also want to check the UI screen before clicking FLY, to make sure you have an airfield selected in the LOCATION bar on the left side of the screen. If the LOCATION bar contains a name that consists of several leters and numbers only (usually less than 10 characters), you don't have an airfield selected, and there will be a CTD when you click FLY. Simply check this whenever you change Eras, as the QC airfield lists change from Era to Era.

Also, depending upon the QC flight type and mission, make sure that all of other necessary info on the left side of the screen is properly selected as well.

Good luck and keep us informed.:d

...What Grizz said plus you Know that type of CTD reeks of a missing loadout or file specifically associated w/ FP a/c...:wiggle:

:kilroy:Popsaka, that won't be the case with the FP 2ETO USAAF Heavy Bombers pack. All you need is those four folders I listed above. The pack contains all-new XDP's for all planes involved (ready-equipped with ETO weapons, guns, etc.), as well as engine sounds, etc.:d

thanks Grizzly, you hit the nail on the head with you point towards selecting the correct airfield. As it turned out my CTDs were cuased by selecting an airfiled name with letters and numbers. Now that I select a 'proper' airfield title it all works fine (as I had only installed the FP folders listed in the Read Me, not the entire FP package).

thanks for your help
