Eto ctd

After having my new computer rebuilt twice in a month, I finally got beyond lock ups of anti virus progams and crashes and reinstalled ETO.

Well, the French will be just about to intercept the Germans when CTD. No Error messages, the program just shuts off. Does it in campaign mode. The Belgian single mission runs fine to get the Gladiators suitably slaughtered.

I've reloaded ETO three times, and in fact, from scratch CFS3, OFF, then ETO, and MAW and as far as I know "from flying" the Greeks campaign runs just fine, as well as Nieuport campaign missions in 1916 from OFF.

That CFS3 is untouched and patched.

I have no clue.:gameoff:Any ideas?

Check your aicraft files to see if all the aircraft have the pylons and weapons needed..I have had my set up in the past do the same thing..I didn't have all the pylons and or weapons needed..It takes time but is worth it when you work out what is missing..
I hope this helps..

Your problem may be the result of a spawning issue. Make sure you have set the era swapper set to the same era of the mission. CFS3 may be reaching out for aircraft which don't exist in the era.

I experienced the same problem when attempting to fly Fairey Battles in campaign mode. The CTD would always happen when the aircraft reached a certain point, that is, the point where the aircraft were supposed to spawn.

:kilroy:Wsmwsm, I am proud that you beat me to this one. It's a common problem when playing campaigns.

:kilroy:Roger58, There are five playable campaigns in ETO:

Era 1: Phoney War and Attack in the West '40

Era 2: None

Eras 3, 4, & 5: 1943, 1944, & 1945 ETO Campaigns

You should not use the Stock CFS3 campaign in ETO, as there will be problems.

Look at your ETO Spawn Selector screen. There are eight entries.

Entry 1, Stock Spawn Mode - Limits a/c to stock CFS3 planes.

Entry 2, Random Spawn Disable - To be used when playing missions.

Entry 3, Allied Side ETO - To be used by the Allied player in Eras 3, 4, & 5 when when 1943, 1944, & 1945 campaigns are played.

Entry 4, Axis Side ETO - Same as Entry 3, except it's for the Axis player.

Entry 5, Allied side Attack in the West Campaign - To be used when playing the Allied player in Era 1 during the Attack in the West Campaign.

Entry 6, Axis side Attack in the West Campaign - Same as Entry 5, except it's for the Axis player.

Entry 7, Allied Side Phoney War Campaign - To be used when playing the Allied side in Era 1 during the Attack in the West Campaign.

Entry 8, Axis Side Phoney War Campaign - Same as Enrty 7, except it's for the Axis player.

I hope this helps.:d

Man I appreciate the answers. I'll come back and try to digest tomorrow.

Computer went nuts, fumugata.dll in System32 folder. Deleated malwarebytes. Blocked reload. Turned off Windows Live update. 8 Trojans got in. I've been emailing back and forth to Malwarebytes who I will say stuck with it.

Had to use HijackThis and Avenger to dig the crap out. Endless logs to send. Endless procedures.

I'm using AVG and MalewareBytes. Wondering if AVG is a mistake.

Brother has H1N1 (started Thursday)and won't go to the doctor. Computer misery and trying not to catch the virus. Last time I had Influenza (1995) I spent 3 days in the hospital. Never missed a vacination since, but no vaccine.

This is the stuff I have nightmares about.

I was using campaign One (1) and standard spawning. That wrong?

Hello,
8 entries?

I only have 5...

Did miss some thing?
Thanks in advance

Hi Guys,

Hi Emile,

your looking at the theatre time period selection screen in your screen shot, thats were you pick which period in the ETO you wish to fly in.

there is another shortcut called spawns (or something of that nature) which will bring up a similar table as the one you have shown but instead of time periods it has the various spawn selections as per Grizz's post above.

HTH's

regards Rob.
