ETO expansion intallation questions

Okay so my cfs 3 file is located under C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3 on a vista platform, instead of C:\program files, will it still install correctly or do I have to move it to the regular program files section in order for the ETO to install problem free, and if I do, will I have to change anything, if I do please explain in tremendous detail on what it is and how to do it because i'm horrible with file names and stuff, thanks!!! BTW if I go under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3 all i get is this one binary file
 
btw I'm posting this forum as i'm downloading it (75% at the moment!!!)
 
Default location

Hello Swimmer111

If You don't have CFS3 install in the default location (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games) You MUST instruct the ETO installer where to find it and moreover after the install and before the launch of the expansion You MUST edit a couple of batch files.
If You are not sure to be able to do so, probably the best solution is to uninstall your CFS3 and then reinstall it in the default location.

Hello swimmer, I believe you're using Vista 64-bit?


CFS3 has already installed correctly if it's in the Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games folder and ETO needs to be installed in the same place, because for Vista 64 Program Files is for 64-bit programs only.





The ETO installation runs in two main stages:-
  1. The files to make ETO with your 'vanilla' CFS3 are assembled on your machine.
  2. The ETO directory and sub-directories are written to your machine.
For stage 1, you will see this:-

but what you need to fill in is this:-

For stage 2 you will see this:-

but change the path to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games

Note that the above also holds true for Windows 7 64-bit.
