ETO P-39 for PTO?

swpierce

SOH-CM-2025
Are there any PTO-Solomons appropriate skins available for the ETO P-39? Something with 1942 markings as flown in that theatre?

Yes - go to Avhistory and get this one: AvH_US_P-39F_Q

That should do the trick!

Thanks for the reply, I hope you don't find me too much of a stickler.
The AvHistory has the white tail with the star and bar markings, indicative of late 1943 early 1944 New Guinea area I am pretty sure. I was thinking more along the lines of Guadalcanal 1942.
It is a nice one, though.

The one I've got is a P-400, in RAF camouflage, but retained by the USAAF. Visibly John's work. PM me with your address, and I'll stick it in the mail.

Sent the PM.
Is that the same one as in ETO (under US)? Now that I compare it to the photos I see that it has the same markings as the ones on Guadalcanal except for the yellow border on the fuselage markings.
I think that I can just erase those. If not, I would like to see the one you have.
Thanks.

Shall I start something this evening or is it taken care of already?

If you were going to do one as a favor, I am much obliged. The one ndicki sent will work quite well, so it is taken care of.
It looks to be one of the P-400's intended for the Brits that the USAAC took possession of and used in the Solomons.
Just generally speaking, an OD P-39 would also be a nice addition to the theatre.
