As an alternative suggestion, why not alias them to the same scenery folder? That will save you space in the long run...

Aliasing sceney folders

This is something that I had asked awhile ago. How do the heck I do this?

HATE THIS DEFAULT GREEN BACKGROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming cfs2 is like fs9, you put the lod 7 mesh in a scenery folder which goes in a mesh folder and put that anywhere on your hard drive. Then go to add scenery. Click add scenery and browse to your mesh folder. Add that in the way you'd add in any scenery. You can do that with any number of installations.

I have Rhumba's LOD7 mesh installed into folder called "New Mesh". That folder is parked in the Microsoft Games folder, along side my FS2004 and CFS2 installs. Doing it this way, I am able to share the one set of mesh between both sims, and between all my upcoming installs of those sims. Having a shared mesh folder, one that all my installs can look to for the mesh, saves a lot of HD space and makes each install much more managable.

If only we could do the same for aircraft........

You can do it for aircraft and ship models, not just sounds...

AIRCRAFT

[models]
normal=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\CFS2 Models\Fiat Br-20 Cicogna\Fiat BR-20

SHIPS

[models]
normal=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\CFS2 Models\SHA_MERCHANT\sha_merchant
crash=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\CFS2 Models\SHA_MERCHANT\sha_merchant

SOUNDS

[fltsim]
alias=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\CFS2 Engines\Twin\Bristol Hercules

You can do it for panels, too!

That leaves just the textures. ;)
