ETO problem

hey guys.
this question may have been asked before but....
I'm having probs in ETO targeting aircraft.
they don't show up on the radar at all.
can't padlock them if I can't see them on the radar.
everything else works fine on the radar, just ac don't show.
what's up??
anyone know?

okay, screw it.
I'll uninstall and keep my mods in cfs3.
guess I'm the only one with this problem.
 
Before you give up completely, maybe uninstall, re download, and reinstall. Maybe your d/l was corrupted?
 
it's not a big deal Mongoose
but my mod version of cfs3 crashed so I have been using ETO to try my models in.
I'll look for my ETO disc and try to re install
 
dancat, you do NOT need to install your CFS# but ONE TIME! Then make a copy and use it to mad! ALWAYS keep the original install folder un-touched and ONLY mod the copy or in my case copies. to wit: I have CFS3 un-mloested, a OFF install, a DPC Korean war install, the PTO Solomons install, a MAW install, an install just to test mods, and a few more misc installs that I can't remember why I have them! LOL! The point is, with enough drive space you can have as many versions as you want WITHOUT ANY un-installs or multiple installs. ONE is all thats needed! A simple copy command with a paste anywhere provides a clean CFS# folder to work in! It ain't rocket science!
 
ummm yea,
I have many installs of cfs3.
I am a modeler and moder and my modded cfs3 crashes to desk top.
MAW works fine and so does ETO except for the no ac in the radar.
I guess it just makes it more real without radar.

Just noticed this post. A couple of items to try. 1st delete your viewui.xml in the application data folder. A new one will regenerate.

If that doesn't work try to install your MAW viewui.xml in the main CFS3 ETO Expansion folder. Once again delete your viewui.xml in your application data folder.

got it now, must have deleted the uisal from another install cause after doing it again all is good.
back to gmax!
 
If CFS3 keeps crashing I usually delete the entire 'Application Data-CFS3' folder (after saving my key assignment file, of course). That does the trick most of the time. The drawback is that I have to redo the configuration file but I always assume that if things are corrupted in some way, it's better to do that than do a re-install.

That's a nasty looking cannon, Dancat. What is that, 30mm AA?? And by the way, may I inquire about that great P-38 that I remember you were doing? I am still missing a recon version of it (F-5) in CFS3... :d

now that ETO is working fine I will delete my old modded CFS3.
I have all the goodies installed in ETO.
I took a break from the P-38 and started the P-36 but will go back to her soon.
along with the 190, 229, etc.........
if my boss would just lay me off I might get a model finished! LOL\

and it's a 20mm flak 38, need a mission builder to make a mission with P-47's attacking a German airfield so we have sutting to shoot at!
