ETO starting up in different areas

Hi guys

recieved this request for help today, but I don't know what's wrong. Can anybody here tell me what's wrong?

My ETO shows 1943 when I click for BoB (actually I can click any period and the first screen will be 1943)
After the film the 1945 screen appears.

Again, while I am clicking BoB era I can also click any other era and the 1943 first then then the 1945 screen second will always appear.

The missions for BoB show up in the game but so do US airbases (US bases are in MB which also show the 1943 screen when I open that).

I have tried deleting the Application data folder and the ETO in Documents and started a new cfg but same thing. I deleted all CFS from both folders to make sure)

I am wondering if doing a manual deleting (removal of other global layers, mission folders etc etc) of everything but BoB would it allow me to stay only with era 2 stuff.

Any ideas??

Perhaps the Spawn selector needs to be reset of the period of the war you are loading for..

Follow this to the letter:

It is not the Spawn Selector. The install is simply "stuck", and not truly corrupted. It happens on some machines with ETO, and not others.

Try this first. Try to remember which Era you were actually in last. Start the sim in it. Also remember this, as long as you have two totally different splashscreens when starting, one smaller one at the beginning of the start-up, and the second, larger one after the movie (color does not apply, as some are the same pic, but different base colors), you are still stuck. Try it at least a couple of times. Then try starting in the Era of the second splashscreen. If this doesn't work, try Era 1. Most of the time, that will work, but only after trying the Era used first.

This may sound crazy, but I call it "giving it a slap". If done correctly, it does work.

There are two other ways.

Note: Before performing either of the two recovery methods described below, please make sure to backup all of the extra missions you have installed in the sim in a safe location.

Note: Look inside the CFS3 ETO Expansion main game folder for a folder named CFS3 ETO Expansion READMEs. Then look inside this READMEs folder for a file named ERA Files Restore Rev 1.20.rtf, and open and read it. This *.rtf file has the same instructions listed below.

ETO Backup Method:

If you had run the ETO Backup icon immediately after installation, you can simply delete the following files and folders: all five splashscreens, all five qc_locations XMLs, all five uires folders, all five missions folders, the ETOEraSwapper.bat, and the MASTERETOSTARTUP.bat. Then copy and paste the necessary items from the ETO Backup folder back into the CFS3 ETO Expansion main game folder.

CFS3 ETO Expansion ORIFs Re-Install Method:

This is very similar to the ETO Backup Method. Simply delete all of the items listed above, plus the Spawns folder. Then look in the CFS3 ETO Expansion main game folder for the CFS3 ETO Expansion ORIFs Re-Install Rev 1.20.exe and run it. Make sure it is properly aimed at CFS3 ETO Expansion, of course.

If you are still experience problems, please let me know.
