SOH ADMINISTRATIONHi von Oben,Hi
There are a lot of weather xml files in the weather folder.
Are they used so you'll get weather changes in campaigns?
Cheers
vonOben
Hi von Oben,
I think most of the weather files are written for specific missions. Winding Man cracked the variable weather system using his Mission Manager. It worked for campaigns. he used a variety of weather files entitled _cmpweather.xml. These get selected within the mission manager and presumably loaded into the weather folder in the Application Data\user\microsoft\etc pathway. One of the options was an xml file for variable weather. So your goal for variable weather would be to write a _cmpweather.xml for the weather folder under the app data pathway.
I've also tried to attach a zip folder to this post. Its called "dynamicweather1_0.zip" Hope the attachment thingy works.
cheers,
D

Gidday Led Zeppelin, I was a bit short of time in my last post.Daiwilletti, Winding Man campaign manager in OFF don't use at all the CFS3 campaign mode.
Hi Daiwilletti
Thanks for sharing your ideas and for the files!
I’ve already done some testing with WM’s Scenery Manager 4.6.6 and came to de same conclusion how it works in campaign mode. WM did actually base his own dynamic weather on DEX files according to the readme file.
Since I’ve been flying OFF I’ve got used to the weather and seasonal changes so I’m trying to set up the new JB Scenery seasons I’m working on using WM’s Scenery Manager.
I have some problem with the Scenery manager at the moment though since it loses the campaign path every time I close it down. Any ideas what to do about that?
Cheers

This is the way I have it loaded into my CFS3 advanced set up..Hi vonOben,
just off the top of my head, I wonder if you could achieve what you wanted without installing the full Scenery Manager? It may be possible to have a simpler setup. There must be an xml file that controls/specifies what seasons occur in CFS3. It looks as though WM modifies that file and creates four distinct seasons, therefore needs four seasonal folders with appropriate textures in them.
My guess would be that several xml files would need to be modified, then appropriate folders with textures installed perhaps in the Assets folder? And then a _cmpweather.xml file too, of course!
Anyway, its just a thought. You are the one doing the hard yards, :ernae:
