ETOE Mission will not load

bb.zip Bloody Biscay part II

when I click fly I get the message "Mission will not load"

I am confident all installed ok while in Era 1 and have checked that all the additional add ons are there.

eto_bob installed and runs ok

Has anyone any suggestions or solutions ?

Have used Zapper each time before start up but never thought of spawn selector.
I will give it a try (and hope)

Tried spawn selector first in 3, I have put the missions in Era 3, and then
Disable Random Spawns.
Neither worked still got "Mission file failed to load"

Let us know if that works. I don't always think of spawn selector when that happens to me.

You may need to open the mission with notepad and see what airbase is being used. The airbase may not be in that era. Just a thought.

If Loverboy1 is flying this mission in ETO 1.02 he should be able to tell you what era to put the mission in and if he had to make some changes to the mission for it to work.

Ok will check that.

There was no instruction as to which Era it was made for, I just chose 3.

I will also try it in other Eras to see if that gets it going

The .xml for mission 3 (the first one) states "Airbase=reis122" . I don't know how to check which Era that is in.

Have installed missions in to each Era did not work always same problem.

:kilroy:PeterPan, you have a PM. The airbase ID is in one of the five ETO qclocations files. Be careful when opening these.

That mission pack was probably not made for ETO. Some CFS3 missions may not work in ETO at all. Some will work beautifully. However, others may work, but only after a good deal of modification to the mission.:d

Was the missions made for cfs3 orig. , the addon BoB or eto1.02. I have look in the qc xml in Cfs3 and there is no airbase with that name (reis122.) I may be wrong but the airbase would have to be in the qc xml.
I maybe wrong but I think that the missions you are talking about where made for the BoB addon to CFS3 witch would explan whay thay do not work in the orig CFS3 or ETO 1.02. Like I said I could be wrong.

:kilroy:Flyer01, you are not far off the mark. There are five qclocations files in ETO.

When in Era 1, they are named qclocations.xml, bob_qclocations.xml, 1943_qclocqations.xml, 1944_qclocations.xml, and 1945_qclocations.xml.

If the mission in question was not made for ETO, that airbase may not be in any of these files. The opposite is also certainly true, as well.:d
 
If you are not sure which era a mission goes into, open up the mission XML and there will be a mission date at approximately the 5th or 6th line. :kilroy:
 
Grizz, Flyer, Flash, thanks for your input sorry not to comeback sooner, seems Christmas is getting in the way of the essentials.

The Airbase is in qc 1943 and is "City name Reims". I again dld the mission by ronnybengt loaded by him 2008-07-10 and am therefore sure it is intended for ETOE.

Before loading entered into Era1 did free flight and quit.
Loaded new missions (dated from Feb - Aug 1943) in 1943 missions historical. Did a bd zapp chose Random Spawn Disabled then entered game at Era3. It again, after clicking Fly, came up "Mission failed to load".

I think until ronnybengt or someone else can download and check these sub hunting missions I'll have to put this mission set on hold for now.

bay of Biscay mission crash

I have the same problem with "OBay of Biscay 5 Night assult" from bb.zip. Is this a ETO mission or a regulat CFS3 mission?
Again, this could be a completely different problem from a different source, but. I have checked everything that I could think off
and everything is there. The Blen_mki_114 has a Payload="37", is that correct; the number seems too high to me; thou,
the aircraft .XDP has a long list of Loadouts in its program - so it could be. I might change the loadout and see what happens.
Some time ago, I think, I change the mki_114 for a MarkIV_OM-J and it worked.
So it could be something with the mki_114 files
