This has been out for a while but I never had a good look... Shame because it is a really good freeware helicopter! it uses a few default gauges and the FsX Acceleration EH-101 Merlin soundset (Which I replaced because it's too quiet.) Looks it has plenty of operational systems and all switches in the VC are clickable.
It was made by Dirk Fassbender and Hauke Keitel, and you can find it at Hovercontrol.com: http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/ifolio/imageFolio.cgi?direct=FSX_Helicopter_Downloads

There are raindrops on the windows in the wet and wipers that actually clean the windows when turned on!:

It is stable and easy to fly; not as twitchy as most smaller helicopters:

Plenty of moving parts and little details:

for freeware yes its a worthy download, i fly this more than the payware version from ND

if you dont want to pay for the ND Super Puma, then is the package you need to look at

hats of to Dirk for this

I got this installed and have a few hours in it, much better than the default EH-101. Jeansy, did you ever do any repaints for this? It'd be nice to have an all white or black airframe as a base for adding artwork or text.

I have a very powerfull computer, but for some reason some freeware helicopters wont work that well on my system. This one is one of them. I get vewry very bad FPS with this bird, and another chopper that is drastic with the fps count is the various MBB Bo-105 packages for fsx over at hovercontrol. I wish i could fly these things.

Dirk Fassbender has been producing beautiful helicopters for years, his Super Pumas are among my favourites in FS9; this model, along with Rob Richardson's stuff, was why I eventually reinstalled FSX.

Strikehawk, there is a paintkit available over at Hovercontrol, if you want to have a crack at some repaints.

Yep, me too. This Super Puma brings my 'puter to it's figurative knees...darn it

Possible culprits are the glass panels (FsX seems to suffer a great deal with those, no matter what aircraft.) and the high poly count in the VC. I have seen worse aircraft though.

Which is odd, because my computer is far from optimal for FSX, but has no issues at all with this helicopter.
