Have any of you ever tried this MMORPG, it killed my interest in flight simming lately. The graphics and size and scope of their world is increadible. I am having the best time ever in this one.

There is a 14 day trial and if you subscribe its $14 a month I think. This is the most addicting game I have ever played, I have not touched my flightsim in 2 weeks. I have not done anything but live and breath this one since i did the trial.

Been a big shake up in the EVE universe recently as one of the biggest corporations Band of Brothers has been all but annihilated due to some skull duggery and treachery.

Hey Sean, nice to see you again. Yep, I am since 2 years in Eve Online. :D It's one hell of a game, best online game out there maybe....and you never stop discovering new stuff. Wait until you discover the market tools, it's like wall street, hehe. Recently made my second billion and flying a freighter now, this baby:

Hehe glad to see I well and truly corrupted you :) Glad to see you still playing. Got one character in a heavy 0.0 combat corp/alliance but if truth be told not fired a shot since joining them as not been online much (see Netwings posts) Think Im approaching 15B in assets and 5B in cash current :D One character now with over 56M skill pints :)

I purchased Star Wars Empire at War and thought it would be about flying and all... Speeders, X-Wings, etc... nope. arrgh..
 
Hey Lionheart, you don't have to buy it. Just download it from their website.
If you have a good comp get the premium graphics edition.
 
The retial pack is actually quite a good option in that I believe it gives about 60 days playing time and a couple of unique leg ups - by the way if you claim the special Interbus shuttle you have a buyer here :) They go for about 10M isk. Also its DVD is almost up to date on the version so you avoid a hefty download.

As a flight simmer you are almost bound to have a good graphics card but ideally it should have Shaders 3. Shaders 2 works and provide good graphics but shaderrs 3 is superb.

But as said above you can download it and get 14 days free to experiment.

Note IT HAS A VERY STEEP LEARNING CURVE :)

Been playing this for a couple of months. Love it.It is very addictive. Was in a corp till recently when we had a bit of an arguement with the The Scone. Anyway I have a nice Battlecruiser and Iteron IV being fitted out at the moment.
If any of you see me around say hello. I am Greyhound Runner in Eve.
Yes you do get 60 days payment with the boxed set.
Word of warning though.If you download Eve and use the payment from the box set You loose the Interbus Shuttle.Did not find this out till it happened.
It is well worth downloading and trying for the free 2 weeks though.

Very much a point and click interface so a mouse is all you need. It can use TrackIR for looking around but I dont use it.

Its an out of ship view, you are not in a cockpit. Click in local space to go in that direction, click on an object to warp to it basically. To fire target an opponent by clicking on it and targeting it, click F1-F8 to fire (depending on number of guns)
 
Hi all.
I suppose the best way to look at EVE is a 3rd person view online Elite for grown ups.
It looks amazing and totally draws you in.Always leaves you wanting more.
I have not felt this addicted to a game since I got CFS1.

The EVE team is working on the expansion "Ambulation", in which you will get a character and be able to walk in Stations
(all expansions are free btw)

Would be nice if they could make a mod that would allow you to control one of your turrets manually if you wanted.Or eventually a whole team could take individual control of various aspects of a large ship.real team co-operation.

Well I would like a cockpit personally. Who knows, maybe those things come closer with the Ambulation expansion...
Anyway, it's not like there is nothing to do in Eve...I play since 2 years and still having the impression to have scratched the surface. Man is that game complicated sometimes ! The deeper you get into it the more you have to learn...
