SOH-CM-2025
Back from holiday, and a new computer was waiting for me, so I enjoyed myself with a fresh install of nearly everything. At it for two days now...
Very fast, huge HD, shall I install NL2000? Any suggestions, is it good?
I have faaar too many scenery from orbx, I decided to leave North America off for now..and a lot of aircraft are ending up in my hangar at the end of the field too, we'll continue installing them when I start to miss them..
But a couple of old and new friends are welcome of course:

which brings me to a question: how do I get rid of those stupid red letters in the top right corner? I know there was a way, but what it was? And how do I stop those endless "ádjust your altimeter" messages, can anyone help me with those?
Some aircraft are simply copied from one FSX to the next and work perfectly, others....well, less so:

so, where did I leave the original download and the installation codes? Oh wait, Carenado kept them for me, OK, more to install..

There was also a new photoshop (CS6 already, I thought 5 was the latest) for me, so I might as well splash a bit of paint:

OK, back to the installations...

Jan Kees, to make the upper right corner text go away change these lines in your FSX.CFG file - they are under the [Display] section :

Default:
ChangeTime=4.000000
TransitionTime=4.000000

New:
ChangeTime=0.000000
TransitionTime=0.000000

You can also set it to 1 sec to make the text appear but go away faster.

BTW: I like NL2000, specially the airfields. You can try it out by just installing 1 airfield or region, if you like it you can add more.

cheers, Henk.

Also, the Bonanza didnt load right because you need the FSX SP2 update. ;) (if you installed FSX SP1 already).

Do it - it's not good - it's better!

Since 2010, I checked our vacation areas in the Netherlands "from the air" before we hitched our caravan and even found some nice areas for the next year.
It's my favourite scenery to fly.

JanKees, enjoy your new machine! It is alwyas surprising to see how much faster a clean install works!

NL2000 is a huge download, but it it really fun. Its appearance is a bit "flat" as it doesn't have much autogen (and our country is very flat), but areas like "de hoge Veluwe" are really great. The airfield scenery is very nice as well!

One small warning there are no night textures, so it is very dark during the night. Ideal when you want to do an authentic night mission in a WWII aircraft.

Cheers,
Huub

OK, I'll start downloading..

meanwhile, all the Carenado kites are working once more:
