• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Experiments to Learn

Hello Arfyhun,

Glad to see you again!
There actually was a lot more going on with this project than I am describing in this thread.
I have never actually described what the experiment was that I was using this project for.
Even with the FW 190A-8 AIR file, there were some issues that needed correcting.
It was done years ago and I know a bit more these days.

What still remains for this project is to do the SCASM corrections, increase the Zero Lift Drag a bit to put it closer to the A-8 and increase the engine power to compensate.
I also never properly tested it for service ceiling back when I was doing the "Engine Tuning Tutorial".
My testing protocol was incorrect and the results are likely to change with the differences in the CL Graph from the P-51D version.
I also need to check out the DP file. There are some assumptions I made that were in error. I found out when looking through a schematic of the Dora.
At some point, I also need to figure out something clever to say about this project.

This is another case in which I thought I had all the pieces ready for a pretty fair Dora and found that nothing was really ready without a significant amount of work.

At the moment, everything is on hold on this project while I am busy working on new Twin-Engine Gauges.

Take Care.
- Ivan.
