F-86

Man,that is one pretty bird.I see a lot of F-86's in my travels as displays, some are nice but most just sit and rot.I once asked at a outdoor display of about 15 planes in Alaska "why don't you just paint them at least"?

He said they had to file mountains of paperwork to even do that. There's one in Central Square NY that has been there for at least 40 years. It does my heart good to see this beautiful example.:salute:

L-G, that is one gorgeous F-86. Thanks for the link.

I know of one sitting in a hangar with a M-21 out in Reno, Nevada. I've heard it's for sale, but it's unkown if that's true. Next time Capt. Gano is out there I'll have him get photos of it and all the info he can.

Dagnabit, I was watching that very a/c yesterday at the CYXX Airshow. Must have taken about 20 pics but with a 50mm lens, it looks like it is a hundred miles away.

Awesome looking bird! Can you imagine pulling up to your local FBO and getting out of that baby. :d

What frustrates me on something like that plane is, they go to all the trouble to restore it then they use stencils to put the "Golden Hawks" on and then to add insult to injury the put the "A" on backwards.
