F-86's in bare metal

Having all the F-86's to fly, KO, Alphasim, and S8....I've been able to craft a decent completely bare metal F-86 skin for the KO, but has anyone done so for the Alphasim or S8 jet. I found one for the S* jet but its a photoreal kit and I preferr a painted look as it allows for shading.

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently looking at doing a new baremetal skin for the T-33ppp next.
 
Yes, and his paintkit is for a photoreal paint slso plus it has a black antiglare panel on it.

Jan announced the release of of non-photoreal paintkit for the SF8 Sabre some time ago over at the SF8 forum, but I guess his "Turkey season" still lasts... :icon_lol:

The photoreal base textures don't look wrong in my eyes when 'camoed over', at least for glossy camoes such as Luftwaffe or RCAF (this is my Bluenoser):

Nah, Turkey season is over for the time being, Billy, it's pretty much the 'FSX season' at hand now...:d

But you're quite right about that non-photoreal/handpainted repaint kit in the pipeline. Almost finished but the FSX season got in the way. Hope to finish and release it when i get the chance. Not only a repaint kit ( layered PSP, panellines, rivets, text, markings, sunglints, shadows, weathering, paint chips, the lot ) but significantly upgraded external and internal model as well (a.o. complete 3D VC radio set ) plus hardwing version.

Very nice! Will the paint kit include a painted "bare metal" skin? You said PSP....is this usable in Adobe?

I should've said ' psd ' , instead of 'psp '. As you know it's standard Photoshop but can be used in other paintprograms as well, including PSP.

No 'painted' bare metal skin, no. But that'll be easily obtainable by using various shades of solid grey as base paint with reflection via alpha channel. Panellining, rivets ( both come in light and dark layers providing similar result as bumpmapping in FSX ) and a bit of weathering will make for a nice bare-metal look if you use various amounts of reflection as well.

Re black armband : well, atleast this major upgrade is still native FS9, fellows, and, who knows, by the time the native FSX model is finished you might be happily enjoying FSX too... :)

It's 'The Last Of The Many' afterall !

Btw, please make that atleast a b/w checkered armband. :d

So I'll have to finish all my other unfinished stuff till then, because there wil be a lot of Sabres taxiing to my small paint cabin... :jump:
