Description: These textures are intended for use with the F-8E(FN)/F-8J Crusader by Royale French Navy Design. They represent F-8J BuNo n°149185 assigned to Naval Air Test Center Flight Test at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. In mid-1970 this aircraft was used for F-8 Crusader compatibility trials on board CV-41 USS Midway following her four-year modernization overhaul.

Repaint by Frank Safranek using paint kit by Royale French Navy Design.

My time at NATC Patuxent River was 1973-1976. Beautiful base.

Had the good fortune to work on many aircraft, including this one, plus F-4B/Js, TA-4J, A-4, A-7B/C/Es, T-2Cs, T-38s; even two F-11s that were there for a time.
