Mark Webber and Robert Kubica on the front row!!
I actually sat down to watch qualifying for a change and the first corner is going to be very interesting!!!!
Might even watch the first few laps before the usual boredom sets in.

Maybe it will rain and you'll be watching the entire event. F-1 is crap without a wet course. Monaco by its nature of being a street course will have little to no passing anyhow. Need rauin for wrecks, that'll juggle positions. Happy to see Kubica in P2. I missed qualifying, had a 5K run to direct this morning.

Interesting - Renaults......
I still don't think Mercedes has a huge power command over Renault....(and yes I know Monaco isn't a top speed track - but what about torque :ques: )

I trhink this race will be more interesting; 24 cars on the track with a Ferrari all the way at the back. I'm predicting one or two safety car situations! Second, there's no more 'we'll overtake him in the pitlane' anymore. All cars start at roughly the same weight and tyres so if you want to gain positions you will have to do it on the track. I think (And hope) Kubica can win this one!

Not a bad race at all!! :ernae:

RBR seem to have the 'right package' at this point, driver and car dominating on fast and slow circuits.
Be nice if Webber can keep on top of his game, he certainly has earned it.
:australia: :applause: :austria:

With Kubica being right up there in the mix,
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Renault has better acceleration than Mercedes...

Schumacher penalised for Alonso safety-car pass.

Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher has been penalised by the Monte Carlo race stewards for his overtaking manoeuvre on Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso in the dying moments of the Monaco Grand Prix.

Schumacher was handed a drive-through penalty, which is converted after the race into a 20-second time penalty, dropping him from sixth to 12th in the results.

Schumacher passed Alonso just as the safety car pulled in at the end of Lap 78. The FIA stewards, which included his old sparring partner Damon Hill, have deemed the German breached Article 40.13 of the Sporting Regulations, which states that “if the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking."

Schumacher’s demotion moves Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi, who had finished in 11th, into the points.

I'm in no way a Michael Schumacher 'fan' but I think Article 40.13 of the Sporting Regulations is idiotic!!
And yes, Schumacher would be well advised to keep the rule book as bedside reading, but why pull the (so-called) safety car in under these circumstances?????
Window dressing??
Drivers can't pass but the race must end under the chequered flag for appearance sake.
Bloody stupid.
:banghead:

I'm in no way a Michael Schumacher 'fan' ...
Meh, you are not alone.
Think how hard (now) racing steward Damon Hill would've had to try keeping a straight face, bumping Schumacher out of the points. :hatchet:

Who needs rain?
Very entertaining, and fitting for the 60th anniversary of Formula One racing.
