Another little suggestion...
Thanks.Oh I understand, the amount of work from the community to make CFS II meet it's full potential is amazing, especially how after 16 years I still prefer it over any of other flight sims out there.I did subsims for a long time and the community there is impressive as well.I am new here so learning the basics of CFS II and everyone has been helpful.
You're welcome. Let me add a little more, this refers only to the fuel switch topic.
Information about how many fuel tanks are installed on a given aircraft are contained in each aircraft *.air file, or more commonly called airfile.
With William Roth's utility here:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=49&id=3142
you will be able to open airfiles and, eventually, edit them where you will see fit most.
Fuel tank record numbers start from #525 (Left Main Fuel Tank). Open your airfile with AirEd, scroll down until you find record #525 onwards. Click on the record number and the record will open up. Then you can read all info concerning the chosen fuel tank.
In this case, you will find out
how many and which tanks equip your airplane. Stock fuel switches were designed only for stock planes, they do not reflect all addon designers' choices. In many cases they are quite reductive and do not allow complete management of all the fuel capability built in any given addon plane.
A good example is multi-engined bombers, equipped with wing main and auxiliary fuel tanks, sometimes with multiple fuselage tanks.
With this gauge library, from MAPE's production line:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=46&id=6517
you will have switches for each individual and 'ALL' tanks. With CFGEdit you can add those switches to your 2d panel and fully control your onboard fuel load.
Do take the time to take a peek through SOH Add-Ons Libraries 'CFS2-Utilities Add-Ons', 'CFS2-Panels Add-Ons' and 'CFS2-Other Add-Ons', you will find a lot of interesting toys there.
But...please, do not curse me if you will start forgetting your meals or ignore your watch and push your bedtime a little bit later each night, as anyone of us here does!
I just opened CFS2 treasure box for you and addiction to it is just behind the corner!

....
Enjoy it!
Cheers!
