Facebook Virus Warning

VIRUS WARNING!!! I just received an email supposedly from "service(at)facebook.com" that was stopped by Earthlink's virus filter. The text of the email said that my password had been changed for security reasons and that my new password was contained in the attached zip file. This is the important part - if you get one of these emails, DO NOT OPEN IT!!! The zip file contains a virus! The header info in the message contained an IP address in South Africa. Facebook is based in Palo Alto, CA. If you're in doubt, just log out and log back in. If your old password still works, then the email is a hoax.

Ooops, I just received one.... same thing...

Thanks Tom, i will spread the word to my friends... :bump:

I've been getting multiple "facebook" emails regarding
"updates to the login procedures"....all BOGUS!!

Many are getting through the SPAM filter on one of my
email accounts but I NEVER reply to any emails of that
type from any service such as E-Bay, PayPal, etc.
If they have an update, I'll know about it when I log in to
the service. Same goes for all those bogus bank emails.

Paul
