Hi all,
i'm in love with this old Falcon 50 by Fred Banting & Co. Did you know if
there is a fs2004 updated version. In virtual cockpit landing gear is hided
and seem to float over the runway.

Thanx

To answer the first part of your question: as far as I know there is no update.

Personally, I find the original version works quite well.

I'm not sure I understand the second part of your question, in my sim the wheels appear to be on the ground.

I like and fly this aircraft a lot in FS9 and have just finished my own glass cockpit and other mods for her. Flight model is one of the best. There was definately a FS2004 update done. Works well in FS9. Think the link is to a French sim site. Will look around and try to post a link.

Yes the first link is dead. Now i will try the second one. THANX!

In my original version when i set in FULL i see the plane suspended over the runway without landing gears.

I hope in this new 2004 version done any official update was released from authors.

I love that thing. I logged a ton of hours in that back in the days of FS2002. The high rez paint scheme was hard on the computer, but it was simply the best!!! And what a cool interior! Little office room in the back, elegant wood, awesome VC, that cool clickable Annunciator panel, photo real textures....

Years ahead of its time in the Sim world.

I think the development team on it was led by Yannick Lavinne. Not sure. Wish he and they would do some more...

There is a brilliant documentary out on the creation of the Falcon Jets, well, the F-50 in particular. It was first developed for the French military. It had to be able to land on dirt strips. The wing design turned out to be way off, and on their last day of trials, during the night, all night, they refitted the wings top surfaces with foam and wood bits, covered it over, and created a different wing profile that they calculated they actually needed. The next day, it flew superb and they got the contract, and thus the F-50 was born.

I must have had the update without remembering that I did. When I looked in the cfg file it is still identified as a 2002 model. Maybe that part of the cfg wasn't changed.

Thanks for the HU. . .a beautiful airplane inside and out. I changed the soundfile, as anything would sound better than the Lear, lol. Is there any way to show a pilot (keystroke/hotkey, etc) or was this done without a pilot?

Either way a great airplane.:ernae:

I recall reading that the air.cfg continues to read 2002 even with the 2004 update.

Very glad to see others discovering or rediscovering this special FS a/c. This is such a great flyer and there are really too few good freeware business jets around. I have modded mine with different sound, smoke and into a longer range Falcon 50EX with a Rockell Collins Pro line type panel layout with color weather radar etc (using freeware gauges). I use it for transatlantic "commuting" - often over night - and it can get in and out of a lot of different, smaller airports.

Shame Gulfstream (and Lockheed I hear) are such a pain about licensing - I would spring for a high end payware eg G4 or 5 and Jetstar. FDS has been promising a Jetstar II forever but not sure its ever going to be released.

Anyway the new FS2004 update has dinamics completely changed and modified and i dont like it. I've tried to adopt mines from FS2002 version but when i level the plane tend to turn right or sometimes to the left.

The model has been completely rebuilt and aircraft.cfg too. Hmmm i love
the new FS2004 update but mine (no virtual cockpit) completely modded
(aircgraft.cfg, smoke, sounds etc.) seem to me better :redf:

Ciao

If anyone needs the FS 2004 version of the Falcon 50 (and can't get it anywhere else) I Have the Zip file squirreled away on my hard drive. I just reinstalled it this morning and I think I'm going to take her for a spin. by the way, all the original pant jobs available work on the 2004 model.
