Description: [FONT="] This is my complete overhaul of the "Poland, 1939" and "Fall Weiss, 1939" campaign packs found at Robin's site, reconfigured for full auto-install with updated aircraft, airbases, & GSL scenery. The campaign package is divided into two parts.
This first package contains all of the aircraft and weapons required for these three campaigns. In this package, you will find all aircraft and repaints required for this campaign, which I also use in numerous other EFTO campaigns. The aircraft in this package include the aircraft and repaints of Aeroplane Heaven, Klausreiss, Thicko, Morton, Wolfi, the Moose Works, the Groundcrew team, Eric’s PZL factory, Elias, and Xavierb.[/FONT]
The forty-nine missions found in these three campaigns are dedicated to two specific parties; the first is the legacy of the Polish campaign, a short-lived and intense, but ultimately futile effort by Polish civilians and military forces to resist the German invasion, or, from the German perspective, the missions follow the general progression of their successful effort to conquer Poland in a campaign that lasted approximately five weeks. The second dedication goes out to "Robin" and the rest of the original team who did the initial work and released the first version of these campaigns over a decade ago.
For the Polish Air Force, there are two campaigns; one begins out of Krakow and covers their attempts to hold control of the air and ground in that sector before retreating after three short days, while the Warsaw campaign chronicles their effort to protect their capital city from the Luftwaffe before having to eventually flee and head southeast. For both Polish campaigns, all hostilities end on 17 September, 1939, the same day that Soviet forces moved in across the eastern borders of Poland. On this day, you successfully end the campaign along with the remainder of the Polish Air Force, who withdraws to the relative safety of Romania, where you will make your way to the west to fight on.
For the German campaign, your mount will be the Messerschmitt Bf-110c "Zerstörer," an aircraft that achieved the height of its success in the conquests of Poland and Norway. While it has considerable strengths, you'll also have to contend with lackluster maneuverability when pitted against the very nimble Polish fighters, as well as managing her demanding takeoff characteristics, including a notoriously vicious take-off swing.
For the Polish Air Force, your mounts will be various PZL series fighters, primarily the P-11. Occasionally, you will also be asked to fly light bombers, depending on the tactical situation. In the case of the fighters, your PZLs are extremely maneuverable, but are far slower than the German aircraft you will face, so must try to lure them into a low-speed turning fight to maintain the advantage. In addition, their rifle-caliber ammunition will require you to aim carefully and get in close in order to inflict heavy damage.
