If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Familiar Plane??

I think it's from the Baa Baa Black Sheep TV pilot? Supposed to be "Pappy" Boyington's (actor Robert Conrad?) P-40 after the Flying Tigers were folded into the USAAF and before he became CO of VMF-214?

Actually Pappy Boyington was not with AVG when it was became part of the USAAF. He quit the AVG in April of 1942 and was given a dishonorable discharge. The AVG became part of the USAAF on July 4,1942. Boyington was also not an Ace with the AVG. He was only credited with 4-1/2 kills and 2 were on the ground during strafing of a Japanese airfield. He claimed 6 kills but the official record was 3-1/2 or 4-1/2 depending on who you talk to. Chennault gave him credit for 4-1/2.
