• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I'm working on new repaints for the First Class Simulations Lancaster. While doing so, I am also creating new bump maps for it. I am trying to create the look of the metal panels actually overlapping,(like the real thing) and not bumping up against other pieces, which is the look normal bump mapping creates.

This has been a lot of work, and as you can see, I still have lots to do. I am curious what you all think. Please look at the photos, and let me know if it looks like overlapping metal to you also. I think I need to tone the effect down some, I believe I have it too strong at the moment. I hope you can tell with these pics. Not the best pics and being black paint, its hard for anything to show up well.

Btw, these textures are 4096 x 4096.

Thanks!

Looks perfect to me! But perhaps you should also post a picture from a bit more distance.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping I was achieving the look I wanted.

I will post more shots, including farther away, when I get more done.

Thanks again!
