Feeling dumb...A-26 FSX Install gone awry..

ColoKent

SOH-CM-2025
All,

I've searched the forum to see if I can find a similar thread, and have not found one-- if there is already one, I apologize. Here's the deal-- I installed the FS9 SOH A-26 into FSX (Acceleration/SP2) as instructed in the FSX install instructions. Then I installed the FSX files over the FS9 files as needed. The A-26 models show in the aircraft selection window, but they never start to rotate in the window, and then I get a "fatal error - FSX has stopped working" message. I have tried reinstalling, I have gone folder to folder within the A-26_SOH folder, and all seems normal. Other airplanes load with no problem. Does anyone have an idea where the conflict might be?

Thanks,

Kent

A mystery for me. Normally this sort of behavior indicates a problem with the model, but in this case you can hardly expect there are problems with the model as it has been downloaded and installed many time before. So I assume there is a conflict with something on your PC.

What I would do in your case is take out all the things as effects and lights out of the configuration files and see whether there is a conflict there. If this doesn't solve I would take out all the gauges etc.

Good luck,
Huub

I sort of remember a problem with the engine start gauge not working in FSX. Try //ing the gauge out of the panel and see if you can start with a ctl E.
