Feldflugplatz Audembert Luftwaffe WWII

The next airfield of the German Air Force is the Feldflugplatz Audembert on Pas de Calais 1940th. Here was the Jagdgeschwader 26 Schlageter under his commander Adolf Galland in the times of 30.07.1940 - 07.12.1940 and 01.06.1941 - 01.06.1942 stationed.
In the second period the squadron already had some of Fokke Wulf 190.

The creation of this place will take some time, however, as different buildings and the matching livers of the AI traffic of the BF-109 and FW190 must be created. (partly the BF-109 are already finished).
The prerequisite for the correct representation of the place in the FSX will be the addon FRANCEVFR - NORD PAS DE CALAIS FSX V2.

There are some pictures of the place already ... but everything is in constant change.

Very nice again Klaus. A small side note; A few years ago I visited this area to see whether I could still find some traces of the German activities during the Battle of Britain. Except for "Hotel de la Plage" in Wissant and the city of Bologne there is hardly anything recognisable to find. It tried to locate some iof the many airfield, but they all have been turned into farm land.

The area still has a lot of traces of war, but these are all part of the defense lines, systems and weapons build later in the war.

Right Huub,

much has changed in the many years since this war. At the airfield Audembert, however, many things are still recognizable. Many of the existing buildings are still standing and some foundations of the old hangars and bunkers are still there. The runway is today agricultural area, but in principle it is recognizable. Also some of the paved taxiways to the place and also the HQ of Galland are still there.

Even better are the remains of the square Saint-Inglevert (which is still in use today) recognizable. This place is just some km to the north-east. There, for example, the old tower is today a residential building. The runway is paved but basically exactly as it was then.
But anyway ... the traces of time inevitably become less with the passing years.

Lille-Nord is another one where you can still find significant traces of the original airfield (it, again, is still in use today by GA aircraft) - as that was built by the RAF during the Phoney War, however, it's mainly British stuff that you can still see!

Just did the upload for this one.

Next to come will be Feldflugplatz Saint-Inglevert witch was in use by JG51 with comanding officer Werner Mölders.... nearly ready.
