FF/QC Error message!

stoney

SOH-CM-2023
Sometime ago a member here directed me to a link for a file that would delete that dreaded "Freeflight and Quick Combat failed and you might have to re-install" thing. My old PC failed and now I must rebuild. Could anyone tell me where I might find that program agin? It worked great! Thanks.

I am unable to guide you to that program, but am aware that this particular error is usually caused either by having sound aliased to one of the stock aircraft, or by you not having edited the QC to show all installed aircraft, or having too many aircraft installed.

I use the Jonesoft QC editor along with (MW's or MR's) CFS2 Overload patch v 1, to solve most of these types of problems.

Hi Stoney,

It's called the CFS2 Overload Patch and I think it was on Sander de Cocq's website which is not working.

It substitutes two of the dll files in the Modules folder.

It allows you to have hundreds of aircraft per installation. The size of the mdlnames file and the Objects_DP folder is still limited. If you go over the limit with these, you will still get that familiar error message. Mission Builder does not work with this patch.
