I'm no artiest nor modeler, I just fiddle around.
So far my thoughts on the plane maker proggie, pretty powerful for a "included" program.
Needs more functionality with the view panes/windows where you move the vertices around (needs to be able to select each little window and make full screen.
Needs to include all object types in the modeler with perhaps a better nameing convention? Seems a bit too hard to grasp easily.
IMO if this program was ramped up a bit/made a bit easier to understand by lay folks and had everything needed to create the AC and the 3d pit (maybe does but so far I'm not sure) then it would be a very powerful proggie and IMO would draw lots of folks into xplane just to play with createing stuff.
As I have time to actualy fool around with it more I may learn that it's got more functionality that 1st appears though. But that's a rough 1st impression.
Now I have been fiddling about a little, I d/led the tutorial I mentioned in the repainter thread, I've not modeled a cub yet as I've not had the time to take to do so. I did D/L the cub model and have been fiddling about with it.
So far: The orginal cub, no vc, painted windows.
To this:
With working 3D vockpit views (no actual VC pit yet just the inside of the model) I smoked the windows too much too...
So, the plane maker has alot of potential I think but needs better tutorials perhaps and some beter features in some areas.
Still a very cool "extra" toy
